What are the responsibilities and job description for the PRINCIPAL APPLICATION DEVELOPER position at County of Los Angeles?
The Internal Services Department (ISD), Information Technology Services is currently seeking a Principal Application Developer to fill the vacancy in Midrange Computing Division. Positions allocated to this class are responsible for the design, implementation, and administration of complex systems, providing high-level technical expertise in automation of enterprise infrastructures. They assist managers in analyzing and resolving technical and operational issues, developing strategies to enhance system reliability, and ensuring compliance with security protocols and industry standards. Their role directly impacts the efficiency and effectiveness of the department’s operations ensuring the uninterrupted operation of mission-critical Countywide eCAPS and e-HR services, which operate 24x7x365that serve all County Departments.
Researches, plans, develops, and implements automation workflows to enhance daily operations through low-touch or no-touch processes, ultimately improving service delivery and reducing overtime costs.
Serves as a project manager/coordinator when needed.
Provides technical expertise in root cause analysis to identify and resolve eCAPS/e-HR and IBM WAS errors and reported problems across all environments, including development, test, quality assurance, training, production, and Disaster Recovery. This involves coordinating resolutions between Shared Services Branch (SSB), Customer Applications Branch (CAB), Cyber Governance and Operations Branch (CGOB), and AC teams.
Provides technical expertise in developing and implementing a continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipeline strategy for code deployments in the new Rancher Kubernetes architecture hosting the eCAPS/e-HR 4.x.
Provides technical leadership, supervision, and subject matter expertise for the installation, configuration, testing, and implementation of eCAPS/e-HR software components, including new releases and applicable fix-patch releases.

Salary : $118,234 - $159,337
