Summary: Under the direction of the Facilities & Maintenance Director, this position performs a variety of tasks related to the construction, installation, maintenance, beautification, and repair of parks, buildings, recreation facilities, and grounds.

The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment.Performs general building maintenance and custodial duties, including the construction and upkeep of small buildings, pavilions, shelters, picnic areas, benches, bleachers, and other facilities.Conducts basic carpentry, plumbing, painting, roofing, and other semi-skilled construction and maintenance activities.Performs concrete and masonry work as needed.Ensures proper installation and maintenance of playground equipment, including conducting safety inspections.Performs outdoor work such as mowing, edging, trimming grass, and weed removal.Assists in the installation, testing, and maintenance of sprinkler systems, including selecting line sizes, sprinkler spacing, types, and control equipment.Assists with spraying projects for pest, fungus, and insect control in parks, ensuring chemicals are used in compliance with regulations.Operates a variety of light equipment, including mowers, chain saws, pruning equipment, and hand tools; performs routine maintenance to ensure efficiency and safety.Assists with pruning trees and shrubs, removing dead or diseased plants, and stimulating healthy plant growth.Plants and transplants trees, shrubs, flowers, and other vegetation to develop attractive park grounds.Applies fertilization techniques using dry and liquid chemicals as directed.Performs seasonal tasks such as snow removal and winterizing water lines.Monitors and inspects refrigeration equipment, adjusting gauges and restarting systems as necessary.Conducts routine preventative maintenance on facility systems, including HVAC, domestic hot water systems, and pumps.Performs general maintenance on various building components, including ceiling repair, drywall, painting, caulking, and concrete repair.Performs preventative maintenance on facility systems, air conditioning, and vehicle safety checks.Maintains carpentry aspects of buildings, including window and door frames, woodwork, and shelving.Fabricates or repairs furniture and locks as needed.Supervision: Works under the direction of the Facilities and Maintenance Director Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not supervise any staff.
