Position Summary:
The purpose of this position is to monitor and supervise a unit of Economic Support Specialists and Lead Economic Support Specialists who process public assistance cases for individuals applying for state and federal program benefits. As the key mentor and role model for the staff, the supervisor needs to maintain the highest personal/professional standards for economic support practice and be able to direct staff in both program knowledge and client service skills. The work is performed under the direction of the Consortia Manager.
Please note: Interviews are expected to take place on Wednesday, February 12, 2025; and the tentative start date for this position is Monday, March 3, 2025.

Supervises Economic Support Specialists and Lead Economic Support Specialists:
Participates in interview process for selecting new employees.
Appraises the work performance of direct reports and makes determinations for performance rating.
Actively supports professional development of these employees.
Conducts monthly staff meetings-individually and as a unit.
Provides coaching, feedback, and support for the development of others.
Supervises IM workload:
Reviews, interprets, implements, trains, and monitors to ensure compliance with federal regulations and State policies from Department of Health Services and Department of Children and Families.
Responsible to ensure communication of changes in regulations and procedures to unit.
Reports case or system problems to the State Problem Resolution Center.
Assists staff with unusual or difficult cases and makes final decisions on cases within policy guidelines.
Responds to inquiries from case participants and the public regarding case status and program policies and procedures; responds to complaints from case participants.
Approves special exemptions for program recipients.
Monitors assigned workload and re-assigns as appropriate.
Sets staff performance benchmarks. Monitors performance to meet state contract benchmarks.
Assigns out special reports required by the State.
Monitor confidential caseloads.
Act as security officer for State programs.
Utilizes state computer systems to access information from Child Support (KIDS), Forward Health InterChange, WEBI, Electronic Case Files, CARES Worker Web (CWW), Call Center and ensures staff are trained staff in the use of the computer systems.
Ensures civil rights requirements are met through interpreter services and other means for customers to have meaningful access to services.
Oversees Fraud and Benefit Recovery, including claim and investigation referrals.
Oversees time reporting for childcare and fraud hours.
Provides documentation and records for annual fiscal audit.
Oversees Fair Hearing requests and compliance.
Reviews good cause claims and evidence; makes determinations about claims.
Maintains RMS agency roster; responds to RMS sample notifications; reviews monthly RMS report for accuracy.
Monitors & responds to Federal, State, and local Quality Control reviews; utilizes findings to coach staff and make recommendations for future training development.
Completes monthly staff duty scheduling, including approval of time off and flex requests. Ensures adequate staff coverage.
Supports Agency Culture:
Provides leadership in the organization and to the agency management and supervisory team.
Ensures that the unit work environment aligns with agency mission/vision/strategy.
Participates/leads agency committees and workgroups, state subcommittees
Maintains working relationships with community partners such as Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) and FoodShare and Training (FSET) agencies etc.
Participates in the IM Central Consortium:
Coordinates IM service delivery with Langlade, Oneida, and Portage Counties to ensure consistency, to monitor performance, plan and review services delivered within the consortia.
Serves as administrator for consortia Call Center; coordinates with State Call Center leadership.
Supervises the economic support work of consortia-based teams.
Support State staff in completing onsite compliance reviews and implement corrective actions as needed.
Additional tasks and work responsibilities:

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an approved college/university in business administration, human services, or a related field; and two years related experience such as social services case management or administering public benefits programs, preferably in the economic support area; or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities. Previous supervisory experience or lead worker preferred. Valid WI driver license and a driving history that meets County standards.
Compensation:
