POSITION SUMMARY:
The Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department will begin filling Park Manager positions with start dates typically mid-December through March. Under supervisor the Park Operations Manager, Park Managers will oversee operations at Nine Mile Ski Chalet. All positions will be required to work weekends, evenings, and holidays. This is a customer service/point of sale position requiring employee to sell passes and rental equipment to the public.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be 18 years of age or older. Possession of a driver's license and a driving record that meets County standards. Experience performing facility cleaning and grounds maintenance work desirable. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to perform varied maintenance tasks. Ability to keep daily work logs, operate a cash register, and count monies.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:
Assists the public in a friendly and professional manner.
Inspects park grounds and structures for cleanliness, safety, and state of repair.
Promptly reports all vandalism, unlawful behavior, or hazardous conditions to assigned supervisor.
Conducts point of sale with customers.
Keeps detailed records and makes regular reports such as fee collections and remittance, work orders, destruction and loss forms, etc.
May perform cleaning of facility and minor snow removal.
May coordinate with full-time staff to understand trail conditions.
Performs other related work as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Ability to communicate effectively with the public, enforcing park rules, resolving problems, and providing information.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Skill in keeping timely, accurate records related to fee collections, work orders, etc.
Ability to follow safety rules.
Ability to contribute to a positive work culture that fosters excellent customer service and teamwork.
COMPENSATION:
1st year employees: $15.50 per hour
2nd year employees: $16.00 per hour
3rd year employees: $16.50 per hour
This seasonal position is not eligible for benefits.
