PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Responsible for directing the operation of a specific municipal pool and related buildings. Includes direct supervision of lifeguards, swim instructors, and cashiers.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise assigned personnel, including assigning and reviewing work procedures, assist with performance evaluations, imposing discipline, and recommending personnel actions in accordance with departmental and City policies and procedures.
Oversee daily schedule and assist with weekly schedule to ensure proper coverage at pool facility.
Supervise the operation of assigned municipal pool facility.
Notify Pool Director or Coordinator of any needed repairs, service, or supplies.
Perform duties and responsibilities of lifeguard or swim instructor as required.
Responsible for monitoring and checking pool chemicals and recording on log.
Build positive relationships with the customers. Respond accordingly and promptly to any issues.
Supervise and assist in in-service training at assigned pool.
Supervise swimming lessons or any aquatic programming at assigned pool.
Oversee concession and admissions operations.
Responsible for financial operations at pools including Opening, shift change, closing cash drawers, daily deposits, and making change.
Other related duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
One (1) year’s experience as a lifeguard and the ability to deal and communicate effectively with all age groups or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job.
Necessary Requirement: Current Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification. Swim Lesson experience desired. Ability to perform varied tasks to completion without immediate supervision.
COMPENSATION:
Starting hourly rate: $14.25
