Perform a wide variety of clerical and office tasks in support of Central Services and the public to ensure needs are met in a timely, positive, and efficient manner. Support accounts payable, equipment inventory, and a variety of programs. Serve as the first point of contact for the Commissioners’ office and/or PBX operator for walk-in customers with business for the county. Receive and direct incoming calls to the appropriate county department.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
(Any one position may not include all the duties listed nor do the listed examples include all tasks that may be found in positions of this class.)Serve as receptionist/PBX operator by directing incoming calls and visitors, take messages, respond to requests for general information, and provide information regarding established procedures, policies, and services. Schedule meetings and appointments and maintain schedules of conference rooms.Communicate and assist the public. Respond to questions, direct inquiries, provide information, or process incoming and outgoing documents by correspondence, telephone, or in person.Perform a variety of clerical and office tasks, such as answering incoming phone calls, data entry, correspondence, photocopy and distribute correspondence and reports, collate and assemble documents, various documents, and spreadsheets. Review, prioritize, and forward incoming correspondence to appropriate departments for response. Distribute mail, and order supplies.Provide technical accounting support for budget and accounting programs under the Central Services purview, including accounts payable data entry, assembly of vouchers and record management in Excel. Exercise skill and judgment in dealing with the public to solve complaints, answer a wide variety of questions and provide information. Maintain and disburse forms and public information. Recommend improvements to current processes and procedures.May support the Central Services equipment inventory program, Motor Pool Program, Current Use Taxation Program, Employee Recognition Program, and the Veterans Assistance Program.
