Monmouth County Mosquito Control Division is looking to fill multiple full-time, temporary positions as Mosquito Field Technicians/Laborers.
Start Date: Mid-May, 2025
End Date: Mid-September, 2025
Salary Range: $17/hour, 40 hours per week
Work Hours: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm, Monday-Friday
Job Description:
After undergoing NJDEP approved training, a seasonal employee will primarily work as a certified pesticide operator under the supervision and direction of a mosquito control inspector/licensed applicator. The seasonal employee will become familiar with basic mosquito biology and habitat and participate in an integrated pest management approach to mosquito control. Working in teams of two, the seasonal employee will be responsible to inspect known mosquito habitats, apply appropriate control and maintain accurate records of inspection and action taken. Mosquito Field Technician may also be involved in setting and retrieving mosquito surveillance traps and related duties under the supervision of mosquito entomologists. Other related duties as required. Work is primarily outdoors. Knowledge of basic biology/ecology is desirable.
Required Qualifications:
Must be 18 years or older
Must have valid NJ basic driver’s license (no provisional licenses) and good driving record
Must pass drug and alcohol test
