General Summary:
Under the supervision of Probate Court Judge Frank Arnold, serves as court bailiff. Maintains courtroom security, directs parties to proper areas, and provides general assistance to the Judge by delivering case files, obtaining information, and performing related tasks. Also for all virtual court proceedings: maintains virtual security, decorum of participants and coordinates parties for admission or breakout conferences by maintaining ZOOM and Polycom videoconferencing. In the absence or unavailability of the Judicial Secretary, answers the phone, takes messages, and performs other clerical functions.
Employment Qualifications:
Education: High school graduation or equivalent. Prefer MCOLES certified or retired law enforcement.
Experience: Experience as law enforcement preferred or military personnel. Prefer ability in PC usage for locating file information, typing for email messages, and coordinating ZOOM videoconferencing for virtual court.
Other Requirements:
Valid LEOSA Certificate and/or Michigan Exempt Concealed Pistol License (CPL).
Must pass annual shooting proficiency.
Ability to receive/pass first aid, CPR, AED, Bloodborne pathogens, fire extinguisher operations training.
