General Summary:
Under the supervision of a 1st District Court Judge records court proceedings and prepares transcripts as required. Performs clerical and support services as assigned by the Judge. Serves as the Judge’s primary back-up Judicial Secretary.
Employment Qualifications:
Education: High school graduation or equivalent with some advanced college level coursework in legal secretarial training, including coursework in legal terminology preferred
Experience: Two years of secretarial experience in a court or law office ore related setting providing knowledge in the processing of district court cases with prior experience working with FTR Gold digital recording software preferred.
Other Requirements:
- Must sign a Monroe County Court Employee model code of conduct.
- Must attain State of Michigan certification as a Certified Electronic Recorder (CER) within the first (1) year of employment and recertify as applicable.
