The Sheriff's Office is looking for a hardworking Administrative Services Assistant to join their law enforcement team!
This vital role will provide crucial support to the Public Administrator division of the Sheriff's Office. As the Public Administrator's duties are state-mandated, this position will help streamline case management, allowing the Sheriff's Office to efficiently close existing cases and take on additional ones.
Examples of Duties
- Plans, prioritizes, supervises and participates in administrative management activities of a county department or division
- Assists management in planning, organizing, preparing and reviewing budgets
- Prepares, tracks and monitors fiscal information; compiles, calculates and performs simple analyses of data
- Advises and participates in the maintenance of complex accounting, personnel, payroll or fiscal records
- Coordinates and participates in departmental personnel activities such as recruitment and test administration
- Assists in coordinating staff services activities such as purchasing and facility and equipment maintenance
- Assists in contract administration
- Assists in conducting special projects and administrative studies
- Attends meetings and conferences related to public administration
- Directs and performs the preparation of correspondence, reports, forms, records, and other documentation
- Assists with legal proceedings and documentation related to the functions of the Public Administrator

Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with major course work in business or public administration, economics, accounting, human resources, or a related field and one year of responsible administrative experience. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis to a maximum of two years.

Possession of a valid California driver's license within 30 days of hire.
