The position is part-time, working up to 20 hours per week, with shifts typically being between 4 and 8 hours in length.

The County of Nevada Transit Services Division, aka Nevada County Connects, is currently recruiting Temporary (part-time) Bus Drivers in the Grass Valley and Nevada City region. We are seeking motivated, customer service oriented people who enjoy being a part of a close-knit team that provides amazing services to the public. Our Mission is to provide safe, efficient, and friendly transit services to the residents of Western Nevada County. The Temporary Bus Driver position is an integral part of accomplishing that goal, so we need you to join our team.
Recruitment incentives-Up to $3,000 paid over a 6-month period (either new or lateral hires). The recruitment incentive is paid in two parts, half upon hire and the remainder paid upon completion of a 6-months of employment.

- Completion of twelfth grade or receipt of G.E.D.
- Minimum of six months of driving experience in one or more of the following: public transit, a school district transit operation, or driving a commercial vehicle.
- Passenger Endorsement Certificate permitting the licensee to operate public transit vehicles equipped with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating of 26,001 pounds or more.
- California Class A or B Vehicle Operator’s License
- Department of Motor Vehicles Medical Certificate/DL-51
- Vehicle Transit Training (VTT) Certificate required within three months of hire
- Passenger transit driving experience preferred
- Possession of current and valid Certification for Operation of a School Bus is highly desirable
- Possession of current and valid Certification for the operation of airbrakes is beneficial, but not required.
Salary : $22 - $27
