What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deputy Probation Officer II position at County of Nevada?
As a Deputy Probation Officer (DPO) you will:
- Collaborate with Nevada County Superior Court, law enforcement partners, and other Health & Human Services departments.
- Investigate, supervise and support adult and juvenile clients in becoming productive members of the community.
- Recommend sentencing to the Courts and provide for the rehabilitation of clients.

- A motivating force to help clients achieve goals through evidence-based practices.
Deputy Probation Officer II is the advanced journey level in the class series. Incumbents are fully qualified to autonomously perform the full range of duties and exercise considerable independent judgment in providing supervision and counseling to a caseload of clients, conducting pre-court investigations, and recommending sentencing to the Courts.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in criminology or one of the behavioral or social sciences or a related field.
AND
Equivalent to one year of experience performing duties comparable to a Deputy Probation Officer I.- Licenses and Certificates
Possession of a valid driver's license within 30 days of hire.
Compliance with all relevant pre-and post-employment training requirements of Penal Code sections 830 through 832 and section 6035, including:
Arrest, search and seizure certification and State Board of Corrections mandated core training prior to Employment.
Some assignments may require arming and State-mandated training, including PC 832.
Salary : $72,214 - $88,159
