This position is crafted for individuals who have graduated from high school and have at least one year of clerical work experience which includes customer service activities. No college degree is required and if you have the knowledge of general functions of library service, that's a plus!
Compensation:This position will have an additional 10% Truckee differential pay and could be eligible for the rural health subsidies. Position includes salary adjustments based on merit within the classification of employment. On each salary anniversary date, until an employee reaches the maximum salary step for the employee's salary range, salary and shall be advanced to the next higher step of the employee's salary range unless the employee's service is not satisfactory.

- Support the youth librarian with providing services to youth, teens, and caregivers. This includes working the youth circulation desk, as well as assisting professional staff with designated library programs, displays, and community outreach/promotions
- Operate the library circulation desk; charge and discharge books, periodicals and other library materials; register new patrons, explain library rules and procedures and issue library cards
- Shelve books, periodicals, and other library materials
- Assist professional staff with designated library programs, displays, and community outreach/promotions
- Search for and locate books, reference and other materials within and outside the County's Library System upon patron requests; send books to other branch libraries
- Provide excellent customer service to customers & the general public
