The Social Services Department is seeking one new support staff team member to support our Child Welfare Services department! this individual will support the department by assisting with clerical tasks related to the department units including:
- Greeting and assisting customers.
- Processing incoming and outgoing mail.
- Answering phones.
- Completing and filing forms, and other clerical support duties as assigned.
Applicants interested in an Office Assistant I (OA I) level will have completed twelfth grade and have coursework or practical experience in typing. Candidates qualified for the Office Assistant II will meet the requirements for OA I and also have two years of general clerical experience at the OA I level. Please be sure to apply for all levels of positions which you feel you may be qualified for.
This position is part-time temporary; part-time employees work an average of 20 hours but not more than 29 hours per week, for a maximum of 1000 hours per fiscal year. Temporary employees earn sick leave but are not eligible for other vacation or holiday pay, medical, dental, or vision benefits, or CalPERS. CalPERS annuitants are not eligible for this temporary position.

Sick Leave:
Temporary County employees shall accrue at the rate of one (1) hour of sick leave for each thirty (30) hours worked. Temporary County employees can accrue a maximum of 80 hours of sick leave which may be carried over from one fiscal year to the next.
Medical Benefits:
Temporary employees whose assignments average 30 hours per week or more are eligible to enroll in County-sponsored medical benefits.
