About the Position
This is an excellent opportunity to join our team as a Financial Administrative Assistant - Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Housing Coordinator in the Administration department of the County of Newaygo, MI. The selected candidate will work closely with team members to administer financial and budgetary matters, ensuring compliance with grant accounting requirements.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Finance Team in performing routine general accounting activities, including addressing, analyzing, and completing technical accounting transactions and processes.
- Prepare various monthly financial and detailed analyses to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with grant accounting requirements, including the preparation of grant-related financial reports.
- Provide technical financial advice to County departments on grant management and administration.
Requirements
- An associate's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting, business administration, or finance.
- Two or more years of experience working in a position related to accounting or finance.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of fund accounting, as well as the structure of Michigan state and local governments.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to work cooperatively with County employees and other stakeholders.
