The 27th Circuit Court is seeking an individual with clerical and customer service skills to fill a Deputy Court Clerk position. This person serves the public, creates notes on court proceedings, and ensures that notices, orders, judgements, and other documents are prepared timely. The selected candidate will work closely with fellow Deputy Court Clerks and staff from other departments. Ideal candidates should be proficient with computers and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.

- Under the general direction of the Trial Court Director/FOC and supervision of the Court Operations Manager, performs a variety of tasks to assist in processing Circuit Court civil, domestic, and criminal cases.
- Enters all documents into the Court's case management system and ensures that notices, orders, judgements, and other documents are prepared timely.
- Assists attorneys, parties and others by providing counter assistance and responding to telephone and email inquires.
- Oversees and participates in the review of documents for compliance with court requirements.
- Responsible for assisting the public with the Personal Protection Orders (PPO’s) process.
- Prepares various notices, documents and correspondence for mailing or distribution. Ensures accuracy of documents as to date, time, case name and number and other information.
- Responsible for filing court documents and maintaining file integrity.
- Performs a variety of account keeping activities for the court, such as calculating fees, issuing payment vouchers on bond accounts, issuing payment vouchers for court ordered payables, receiving payments, issuing receipts, and posting payments to appropriate accounts.
Education: High school graduation or its equivalent.
Experience: Must have two (2) years clerical and customer service experience. Prefer two (2) years of experience in a court, law office, or other legal setting that has provided familiarity with legal terminology, processing of court cases and data entry. Newaygo County is willing to train highly motivated individuals with comparable experience, customer service and clerical skills.
