Physical Demands:
Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement
Performs light work that involves walking or standing most of the time and involves exerting up to 20 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis, or skill, adeptness and speed in the use of fingers, hands or limbs on repetitive operation of mechanical or electronic office or shop machines or tools within moderate tolerances or limits of accuracy.
Unavoidable Hazards (Work Environment):
Extreme heat and/or cold; Wet or humid conditions.
Extreme noise levels, Animals/wildlife.
Vibration; Fumes and/or noxious odors.
Traffic; Moving machinery.

- Operate automatic scale system to measure the weight of solid waste and other materials that will be disposed.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service to in-staff and the general public either by telephone, electronically, or face-to-face. Answers questions from residents, businesses and site operators.
- Direct incoming vehicles to dumping area.
- Prepare various reports including account billing, funds collections, volume, recycling, equipment data, personnel, and production.
- Issue weigh tickets to drivers and collect appropriate fee when applicable.
- Prepare and maintain records that provide details of the measure and type of material to be disposed.
- Issue and renew vehicle permits.
- Contact various businesses to schedule pick-up of recyclables; coordinates delivery and pick-up of containers for special projects, community clean-ups, etc.
- Requisition and receive invoices for needed supplies and materials for scale house, landfill, and convenience sites; forwards to finance office for payment.
- Inspect inbound material to ensure they meet Class II Landfill specifications.
- Performs other duties and related work as instructed and assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent supplemented by specialized courses/training equivalent to completion of one year of college.
- Requires some experience in landfill operations and control.
- Clerical skills.
