Description :
Position Summary : Coordinates poll workers’ notification, scheduling, training, mailings and provisional ballots for Riley County Elections, provides clerical and bookkeeping support for the Riley County Clerk’s Elections Division.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Analyze, maintain, and update voter registration database :
- Continually strive to find new ways of keeping all voter records current.
- Assist in promoting voter awareness
- Assist in maintaining DMV records
- Prepare voter registration cards as needed through bulk mail
- Update bulk mail, and BRM licenses annually
- Coordinate hiring, job assignment, and communication for election workers with Human Resources.
- Coordinate Election Day processes for elections.
- Assist in presenting training presentations
- Coordinate charging, testing, and preparations needed for the election equipment.
- Organize logic and accuracy testing process for machines prior to each election
- Recruit student judges for elections.
- Train election workers on Provisional ballots process and balancing after each election.
- Post provisional status on Election Voter Information System (ELVIS) and prepare public documentation showing provisional counted.
- Maintain ELVIS tokens for the Clerk’s Elections Staff and Temporary Workers

POSITION REQUIREMENTS :
Riley County voter registration preferred.
Education : Associate degree required with 2 years’ general office experience.
License(s) / Certification(s) : Valid driver’s license required. Must complete Help America Vote Act training (8hrs) annually. Must be able to obtain a State of Kansas Notary Public.
Experience : Knowledge of Microsoft Office, and experience working with the public.
Appropriate combination of experience and education considered in lieu of the above requirements.
Skills : Good organizational and communication skills and ability to work on multiple tasks with frequent interruptions : ability to work independently as a self starter.

Required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms. The employee occasionally lifts / pushes / pulls 50 lbs, frequently lifts up of 25-50lbs and constant lift of up to 25lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
