What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deputy District Attorney III - Blythe position at County of Riverside?
The Office of the District Attorney seeks Deputy District Attorneys at the III level to fill vacancies in the Colorado River Office (located in Blythe, California). Incumbents will perform a wide range of professional legal work in criminal and related civil cases; prepare and present cases before any court within the state; perform other related duties as required.
The District Attorney of Riverside County, as the public prosecutor acting on behalf of the People, vigorously enforces the law, pursues the truth, protects those victimized by crime, exonerates the innocent, and safeguards the rights of all to ensure that justice is done on behalf of our community. The office’s staff of over 700 is comprised of prosecuting attorneys, sworn investigators, victim-witness advocates, paralegals, investigative technicians, forensic analysts, and a wide range of information technology and supporting staff all committed to excellence and integrity in public service. Experience: One year as a Deputy District Attorney II in Riverside County or in an equivalent class with another government agency.
Experience: Two years in the practice of criminal law.
Experience: Three years in the practice of law.
Knowledge of: Legal principles and their application; the rules of evidence and the conduct of court proceedings; the duties, powers, limitations, and authority of the District Attorney's Office; the methods, procedures and practices of prosecution; grand jury functions and procedures; the roles and operations of related agencies in the criminal justice system.

License/Certificate: Active membership in the State Bar of California.
Possession of a valid California Driver's License is required.
Must be able to pass an extensive background check.
