What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Nurse II / III - MC / CHC- Internal Medicine position at County of Riverside?
The County of Riverside - Riverside University Health System-Community Health Clinics (RUHS-CHC) is currently recruiting for Registered Nurse II / III for our Internal Medicine Department located at the RUHS Main Campus.
Candidates with experience in patient teaching and demonstration are encouraged to apply.
Bilingual is required for this position. Incumbents in this position will be responsible for the following :
- Manages clinic workflow
- Serves as a liaison between providers and patients
- Creates daily nursing schedules for Internal Medicine and it's four specialties
- Triages patient calls
- On Call rotation
- Monthly medication audits for IM and 4 Specialty clinics
- CRM responses within 72 hours
- Patient load coverage when short staffed : Vitals, caregaps, vaccines
- Performing tests in Rheumatology and Endocrinology when LVNs out of office
- Patient and staff education
- Workqueues management
- Enforcing policies and procedures
- Monthly, quarterly, and annual training and sign offs of 24 staff members and new staff
- Preceptor for all clinical staff
- Orients new staff, volunteers, and health coaches to clinic
- Emergency Room Patient transfers
- Working with care teams to coordinate patient care, referrals, DME orders, and post hospital discharge appointments
- Manages clinical phone lines to assist pharmacies, patient refill requests, and conveys messages to the appropriate providers
- Assists with evaluation of psychology needs, calls mobile crisis unit
- Assists with activating mychart
- Participates in the CODE MET (Medical Evaluation Team)
- Other duties that may apply Work Schedule : 9 / 80 with every other Friday off; county holidays / weekends off REGISTERED NURSE II - MC / CHC $42.3012 - $65.4716 REGISTERED NURSE III - MC / CHC $45.4439 - $74.1909 Certificate : Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in nursing or a health-related field may be required for some positions.) Experience : One (1) year of experience working as a Registered Nurse in an acute care hospital, clinic outpatient setting, or healthcare agency program. Registered Nurse III - MC / CHC : Education : Successful completion of the education required to obtain a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California. Experience : Three (3) years of experience working as a Registered Nurse in an acute care hospital, clinic outpatient setting, or healthcare agency program.
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in nursing or national certification in a nursing specialty may be considered as a substitution for one year of the required experience.
A master's degree from an accredited college or university in nursing may be considered as a substitution for two years of the required experience.) License : Must possess and maintain a current valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of California or valid out of state license with authorization to work in California. Certificates : Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association Knowledge of : Current principles, techniques and procedures used in professional nursing; medical terminology and patient care routine appropriate to clinical setting; medical instruments and equipment; the uses and effects of medicines and narcotics; community resources available to provide patient care and follow-up; federal, state and local laws and regulations governing professional aspects of nursing; identification of potential discharge needs; payor source documentation requirements and governmental regulations affecting reimbursement.
