Job Summary:
The County of Rockland seeks a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to oversee the design, construction, and maintenance of its sewer infrastructure.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising engineering programs and activities related to sewer and sewer plant construction, as well as evaluating technical and economic needs for rehabilitation, upgrading, or expansion of District facilities.
Main Responsibilities:
- Supervise design and preparation of plans and specifications for alteration and addition to or enhancement of wastewater treatment plant and pumping station facilities and equipment
- Evaluate technical and economic need for rehabilitation, upgrading, or expansion of District facilities, buildings, grounds, roadways, etc.
- Plan and supervise construction projects in the rehabilitation, upgrade, and expansion of various District facilities
- Monitors and coordinates contractor and subcontractor schedules among projects and with the Sewer District's operations and maintenance activities
Requirements:
- A Professional Engineer's license (PE) issued by the State of New York and two (2) years of post-license engineering experience that substantially involved work in the design and construction management of wastewater treatment plants, sewer lines, pumping stations, and/or related facilities
- Possession of a New York State Professional Engineer's license which must be maintained throughout the course of employment in this title. Possession of a valid driver's license.
