Job Summary
The County of San Diego is currently recruiting for the position of
LAUNDRY WORKER
In addition to base salary, Laundry Workers may be eligible for additional premiums :
- 0.25 per hour premium for working in a medical / detention facility (or an additional 5% above base salary for assignment to Polinsky Children's Center)
- 1.25 per hour premium for the supervision of Sheriff's incarcerated workers
- 0.80 per hour shift differential for Overnight Shifts
- Positions may be eligible for bilingual premium depending on assignment
Laundry Worker is a journey-level service maintenance class responsible for washing, drying, pressing, sorting, and issuing of laundry items in County detention or residential facilities. Incumbents in this class also assign, train, and review the work of incarcerated workers in detention facilities or staff in residential facilities who are assigned to work in the laundry.

Education and / or Experience
Note : Experience using large capacity equipment (operating washers, dryers, presses, and other related equipment holding from 50 - 125 lbs. in a facility is strongly preferred.
