is currently recruiting for the position of:

NUTRITIONIST
Interviews will begin the week of April 21, 2025.
Job offers for selected candidates will be made no later than May 2, 2025.

The Health and Human Services Agency, Behavioral Health Services Division is currently seeking qualified candidates for Nutritionist at Edgemoor Distinct Part Skilled Nursing Facility. Incumbents are responsible for resident nutrition assessment, organizing, planning, and administering nutrition programs to promote health and control diseases as well as provide technical, educational, consultative, and administrative nutrition related services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education, training, and/or experience that demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities listed above. Examples of qualifying education/experience:

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency in nutrition science or dietetics, AND, two (2) years experience in hospital or community nutrition; OR,
  • A master's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign studies equivalency in public health nutrition sciences.

NOTE: Registration as a dietitian with the American Dietetic Association (Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics)/Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) is required.

A valid National Provider Identification Number (NPI) is required at the time of employment.

HIRING TIMELINE & DATES
  • Job Offer and Background Process begins after May 2, 2025. Note: Current County employees may be excluded from additional background screening.
  • Pre-employment Medical Screening: Approximately 3 days following successful background investigation results.
  • Anticipated Start Date: Start date will be based upon successful completion of medical screening or other mutually agreed upon date.

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT

As part of the County of San Diego’s pre-employment process, prospective candidates will undergo a background check (including fingerprinting) and a pre-employment medical screening prior to beginning County employment. Additional types of background investigations may be conducted based on the job-related activities of the position. Current County employees may be excluded from this process.

EVALUATION


Qualified applicants will be placed on a six (6) month employment list based on scores received during the evaluation of information contained in their employment application and supplemental application questionnaire.
