The Department of Purchasing and Contracting (DPC) is responsible for effective and efficient procurement of goods, materials and services, supporting County departments. DPC procures all goods and services for the County of San Diego, as provided for in the County Charter. DPC ensures the competitive process is used for best price and highest quality while conforming to purchasing regulations and emphasizing excellent customer service practices. Procurement Specialists work with representatives from all County departments.Procurement Specialists obtain goods and services via contracts utilizing competitive procurement processes such a formally advertised request for bid and request for quotations, negotiates and awards non-competitive procurements, and performs related work.
