SANITATION REGIONAL SUPERVISOR

The County of San Diego is currently accepting job applications for Sanitation Regional Supervisors. Sanitation Regional Supervisors plan, assign, and supervise sanitation crews involved in the operation, construction, repair, inspection, and maintenance of sewerage and water systems in various county sanitation districts and water the maintenance district.
The District sanitary sewer system is comprised of approximately 432 miles of sewer lines, 8,200 maintenance holes, 8 pump stations, several pressurized force mains, and 3 wastewater treatment plants. The sewer lines are routinely cleaned, inspected using Closed-Circuit TV equipment, and repaired and rehabilitated as needed. There are also routine maintenance schedules for the maintenance holes, pump stations, and treatment plant components.

Hiring Timeline & Dates
- Job Offer and Background Process begin the week of March 2024. Note : Current County employees may be excluded from additional background screening.
- Pre-employment Medical Screening : Approximately 3 days following successful background investigation results.
- Anticipated Start Date : Start date will be based upon successful completion of medical screening or other mutually agreed upon date.

Minimum Qualifications
Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in any combination of the following areas : general sewer cleaning and preventative maintenance, storm-drain system cleaning, underground utilities construction, and CCTV inspection. A minimum of two (2) years hands-on experience is required in operation of jet rodders, combo vactors, and / or CCTV inspection equipment.
Note : Two (2) years of community college coursework in business administration is desirable. A grade II or higher-grade maintenance certificate issued by the California Water Pollution Control Association is desirable.
