Somerset County is seeking a self-motivated, detail orientated individual to join our team as a Clerk in the Sheriff's office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform background record checks for approval of license to carry and license to sell firearms.
- Process and issue license to carry and license to sell firearms.
- Compile data entry within office necessary for completion of reports.
- Assist in answering phones within office and properly direct calls.
- Calculate monthly totals and reports.
- Execution and sales of personal property.
- Eventually be able to cross train for all office clerical duties and substitute for co-workers during temporary absence.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Performs related work as required.
ELIGIBILITY – ALL CANDIDATES MUST:
Meet the minimum experience and training requirements
Any combination equivalent to education and experience that provides the required skill and knowledge is qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
1. High school graduate or GED equivalent
2. Computer efficient and knowledgeable of clerical duties
