The salary range for this position is $9,543 - $12,725 monthly. Thurston County Public Works is recruiting for an Assistant Director to join our dynamic, energetic, and innovative team. The successful candidate will assist in the development and implementation of departmental plans and goals. They will work closely with the director to coordinate daily operations, ensure compliance with regulations, manage staffing, monitor objectives, and improve department outcomes. Essential functions may include, but are not limited to, the following: Assist with developing strategic plans, including evaluating operations and functions, developing business plans and strategic initiatives, generating ideas and plans for improvements, assessing staffing needs, analyzing financial and operations data, and related activities.Act on behalf of the Department Director, when requested, to direct, manage, administer, monitor, and oversee assigned operations and activities of the department in a manner that aligns to the mission, goals, and objectives of the County.Analyze, recommend, and implement department policies, procedures, and standards to promote efficient, effective, and consistent department-wide application. Develop and implement management systems, procedures, and standards for program evaluation.Provide administrative direction to activities relating to the effective utilization of programs, personnel, resources, facilities, and equipment.
