Key Responsibilities
As a Primary Care Physician, you will be responsible for:
- Providing comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide integrated care
- Consulting with other physicians and providers, referring patients to specialists when necessary, and working with other healthcare staff
- Training and acting as a preceptor for fellows and/or residents located at community clinics
- Providing complete, comprehensive, family-oriented, culturally sensitive clinical care for patients
- Educating patients on lifestyle modifications, nutrition, and exercise to support long-term health improvements
- Giving or determining the need for medical tests, ordering laboratory tests as necessary, interpreting medical tests
- Ensuring timely documentation and compliance with medical regulations and clinic policies
- Keeping accurate and timely medical records and charts
- Participating in meetings, conferences, and training sessions as determined by Ambulatory Care administration
- Complying with medical laws (for example, HIPAA)
- Staying up to date with advancements in obesity medicine and participating in ongoing education and training
