Major Functions
The County of Volusia is seeking a Summer Food Service Area Monitor for various locations throughout Volusia County. This position is a supervisory role, and will be responsible for overseeing the performances of field monitors; receiving and reviewing documents to ensure accuracy and completion, conducting random reviews and provide great customer service.
This position is located within the Division of Community Assistance and will be affiliated with the Summer Food Program. This position will tentatively start June 2, 2025 through August 15, 2025.

Graduation from high school or possession of a GED.
Must be able to work daily and hours noted.
Applicant must have a valid Florida driver's license and reliable transportation (vehicle). Applicant must be at least 18 years of age on or before June 2, 2025.

Must pass required background check (fingerprinting and drug screen).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Physical Demands: Use of fingers, hands, good vision, depth perception, hearing, holding, walking, standing, kneeling, bending, reaching, turning, balancing, and stooping. Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling 10 pounds; and reaching above shoulder. Visual acuity (peripheral vision, depth perception, color acuity) to operate motorized vehicles.
Environmental Demands: Inside and outside work. Exposure to inclement weather (heat, humidity, salt, air, rain) and/or dust.
Mental Demands: Able to read and comprehend instructions, letters, memos, and operation guides. Able to write simple sentences relating information, evaluations, and critiques. Able to perform basic mathematical functions. Able to speak clearly and concisely; able to relay information to others. Able to complete forms

- Work hours are: Monday-Friday, six (6) to eight (8) hours a day.
- Must pass Level II criminal background screening and drug screen.
- Some travel is required and mileage will be reimbursed at $0.67/per mile.

- Oversees the performances of field monitors.
- Receives and reviews documents to ensure accuracy and completion for program compliance.
- Ensures sites are adhering to social distancing and other health and safety guidelines.
- Conducts random reviews.
- Provide great customer service to internal and external customers.
- May be assignedto other county locations based on operational needs.
- Attends work on a regular and consistent basis.
- Must adhere to Federal, State, County and Local ordinances.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
