What are the responsibilities and job description for the JAIL CLERK-SHERIFF position at County of Wabasha?
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Provide clerical assistance to the Jail Administrator and staff. Position assists citizens entering the jail area of the Wabasha County Criminal Justice Center, performs various office duties, and may accompany male officers while transporting female inmates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in training and orientation of new employees.
Provide support to the jail administrator, as well as providing data searches for the general public.
Maintain files and electronic records and monitor retention, prepare correspondence and reports.
Utilize general office equipment in performing duties such as a computer, adding machine, copier, fax machine, calculator, multi-line phone system and two-way radio.
Utilize various computer software to perform the functions of word processing, general data entry, creating and updating spreadsheets, designing and formatting new spreadsheets, and updating existing databases.
Transport monetary deposits to the auditor of the county.
Maintain payroll records.
Maintain records of vendors, inmate boarding and pay-to-stay.
Order and maintain inventory of office supplies.
Assist in making County employee ID cards.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
