Job Summary
Coordinate and process daily payroll of the Prison to ensure timely and accurate payment for all the Prison's payroll obligations, Responsibilities include verification of daily time and attendance records to ensure compliance with Department of Labor Laws and be able to make corrections as required to those records. Individual should be knowledgeable of all Prison union contracts and their application to the payroll process. Individual must be proficient in the payroll module of the MUNIS software system and TimeForce to accurately maintain employees' numerous databases and be familiar with their interactions. Position is also responsible for handling all vacation requests, travel/expenditure reimbursements, and employee HR paperwork for employee records.

Responsibilities
- Reviews recording of daily time and attendance for accuracy and makes the necessary corrections,
- Enters data of all new hires, terminations, or status changes.
- Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data.
- Knowledgeable of all Prison union contracts and their application to the payroll process.
- Maintains all employee leave balances including, sick, vacation, personal, and PTO leave banks.
- Maintains employee reserves date files and tracks days used.
- Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Schedules vacation, personal time, and PTO as it applies to specific units within the Prison
- Maintains calendars of compliments allowed off on each shift as it applies to the bargaining unit contracts,
- Maintains payroll filing system.
- Handles all employee payroll problems and questions in a timely and courteous manner.
- Distributes payroll reports and timecards.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Process payroll on a daily basis.
- Performs calculations for travel reimbursement expenditures.
- Updates monthly accrual balances.
- Other reasonable duties as assigned.
Essential Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Four years minimum experience in an office environment and one year experience in payroll department
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Proficient with IO Key calculator and computer keyboard
- Must demonstrate ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and ability to write simple correspondence
- Must maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Must demonstrate attention to detail
- Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills
- Must demonstrate ability to organize and maintain employee records.
