Summary / Objective The project manager position is responsible for representing the company, County Prestress with clients and consultants on virtually any range of subjects related to construction and for making decisions on behalf of the company. Directs team members (employees and consultants) at all levels of contract administration. Controls any number of projects at various stages of work. Reviews records of accounts and inputs entries into to proper accounts. Consults with clients to determine functional and spatial requirements of new structure or renovation, and prepares information regarding design, specifications, materials, color, equipment, estimated costs and construction time. Plans schedule of projects and integrates engineering elements into unified design for client review and approval. Reviews progress of drawings and prepares feedback to clients regarding schedule of projects. Reviews design details for constructability and safety. Represents County Prestress and clients under contract in obtaining bids and awarding construction contracts. Administers construction contracts, pay applications, and conducts periodic onsite observation of work during construction to monitor compliance with plans and specifications. Prepares quality control studies and reports for internal and client distribution. Consults with engineers on project alterations and repairs, using computer assisted design software and equipment as required. Directs and supervises activities of engineers engaged in preparing drawings and specification documents. Directs Site Specific Safety Plans provided by subcontractors on each project. Prepares and finalizes all project closeout documents, and final pay applications. Competencies Project Management. Results Driven. Time Management. Leadership. Problem Solving / Analysis. Communication Proficiency Quality Control Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Position Type / Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position which will typically involve 50 hours a week. Due to the nature of the job, the employee must be available on-call early / late hours to deal with delays, bad weather and emergencies at the job site. Travel The employee may travel extensively when the construction site is not close to the main office or when responsible for activities at two or more sites. Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in architecture or construction science / construction management. Preferred Education and Experience Master's degree in architecture or construction science / construction management.
