What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Psychologist - Postdoctoral Fellow (post-doc) position at Courage to Connect Therapeutic Center?
Courage to Connect Mental Health Center is a private practice located in Glenview, Glencoe, Lake Bluff, and Wilmette. We are hiring a full-time postdoctoral resident to join our training team with the overarching goal to prepare the postdoctoral resident for licensure by furthering their clinical, administrative and overall professional development and growth.
Requirements: Ideal postdoctoral residents will have experience with children, adolescents, and adults, but education and training will also be provided. Candidates will have successfully completed an APA-accredited internship prior to start date (which is flexible) and are interested in pursuing private practice. Candidates must have morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend availability.
Courage to Connect has warm, beautifully decorated therapy and testing rooms and large, comfortable waiting rooms. We equip our clinicians with all the necessities a successful therapist would need to focus solely on the care of their patient. Our office provides an electronic medical records system, company phone extension and email, along with the full support of our billing team, intake coordinator, and office administration; all new clients will be assigned by the intake department, billing team will handle insurance verification, process insurance claims and out of pocket financial responsibility. Our team is collaborative, supportive, and fun! This is a great opportunity to acquire hours, supervision, and experience in preparation for licensure.
CTC Postdoctoral Residents:
· Provide clinical services in the form of individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, and/or psychological assessments, consistent with the individual training goals and plan as developed and negotiated with the Clinical Director. Caseload will be 20 clients per week, with a minimum of 50% of your hours being clinical contact hours in compliance with IL licensure requirements.
· Work independently; clinicians manage their own caseload, schedule directly with clients, and communicate effectively with their clients; establish diagnoses, treatment plans, and therapeutic goals.
· Work well in a team environment.
· Attend staff meetings and supervision, including monthly clinical consultation meetings and weekly supervision.
· Collaborate with client’s referring provider/physician/professionals as well as any other pertinent treatment providers to ensure optimum level of care.
· Work well with families, which may include family therapy, parent coaching, and feedback sessions.
· Participate in a minimum of one hour of face-to-face weekly individual supervision with an IL Licensed Clinical Psychologist.
· Lead weekly group supervision with practicum students; postdoctoral residents also contribute to practicum students’ performance evaluations.
· Co-interview and provide feedback on candidates seeking a practicum position at CTC.
· Are willing to go above and beyond for client care.
· Participate in additional duties as assigned by the Clinical Director.
Work Hours--40 hours per week for 12 months is expected. Shift options are as follows:
Monday - Friday: 9am - 3pm or 3pm - 9pm
Saturday or Sunday: 9am – 3pm
Schedule is flexible.
