We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Specimen Collector to join our clinical laboratory team. In this role, you will be responsible for the collection, processing, and management of biological specimens to ensure accurate and timely laboratory results. The ideal candidate will possess strong laboratory skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety in specimen handling.
Duties
- Perform various specimen collection techniques including venipuncture and spinal taps as required.
- Process specimens according to established laboratory procedures and protocols.
- Ensure proper labeling, documentation, and storage of specimens to maintain integrity.
- Assist in the management of laboratory supplies and equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to facilitate effective specimen collection and patient care.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment adhering to safety regulations.
- Provide basic life support as needed in emergency situations.
- Stay updated on laboratory techniques, procedures, and best practices.
Experience
- Proven experience in specimen collection processing within a clinical laboratory setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of anatomy and laboratory management practices is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with laboratory techniques such as cardiac catheterization and other relevant procedures is an asset.
- Strong understanding of basic life support principles is beneficial.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
