What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Courier L position at Courier Express Inc.?
Courier Express is currently looking for individuals in the Lincoln/Northern Providence area who are reliable, responsible, and have excellent communication skills to be an integral part of our team. Our ideal applicants will provide prompt, courteous and professional delivery/pickup service to multiple facilities and will also contribute to the Health Systems’ mission to improve the health of the people of our diverse communities of Central New England through culturally sensitive excellence in clinical care, service, teaching and research.
Here are the specifics about the positions we currently have available:
These positions will be making pharmacy parcel deliveries in a company owned vehicle to residential areas, including houses, condos, and apartments. Deliveries will be made throughout Worcester County. Similar work to "brown," "purple" or "blue" delivery jobs, but with smaller parcels, fewer stops, and less labor!
- $18.00 per hour!
- Routes will be 11:00 a.m. - 5:00p.m. -OR- 4:00 p.m. -10:00 p.m. -OR- 6:00 p.m. - 12:00a.m.. (end times will vary with daily volume)
- Full time positions will be Monday-Friday
- Part time positions will be a 3-6 days per week, with some on-call work and possibly weekends
- The potential to grow into a full-time position is very good
- Up to 50 stops per day
- Residential and Medical Office deliveries
- Routes will range between 40 and 140 miles per day
- Routed & STAT deliveries
- Most parcels are uniform size <15 lbs each
- Our vehicles are equipped to handle New England winters appropriately
- These deliveries will include sensitive materials such as confidential names, medications, and addresses that require the upmost care and respect.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must have clear background and clean driving record
- Drug screening, including testing for marijuana: ALL tested substances must come back NEGATIVE (Federal/DOT requirement)
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc.)
- Meet all requirements of our insurance carrier
- Be comfortable with pharmaceutical deliveries into residential areas
- Must have your own smart-device and be proficient with using apps & GPS
- Have your own Bluetooth device for hands-free calls while driving
- At least 1 year of delivery experience in a company-owned vehicle, preferred
- Walking, up to 2 miles per day
- Physically be able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle and move/push/pull/lift items (sometimes large and irregularly shaped) weighing up to 50 lbs., (proper equipment is provided for assistance)
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Safely operating a company-owned vehicle (Chevrolet Trax or similar) and maneuvering into loading or unloading positions
- Delivering to customers in a timely, professional, helpful manner
- Communicating with dispatch
- Following route, time schedule, and detailed delivery instructions
- Keeping vehicle clean and refueled each day
- Reporting vehicle maintenance and mechanical issues
- Working in a fast-paced environment
- Following all traffic laws and regulations
