Purpose of the Position: Recruits qualified candidates and maintains a driver count appropriate to the needs of the location.
Primary Job Duties: Responsible for developing, evaluating, and maintaining an available pool of qualified pool of Independent Contractors and Freight Drivers with the skills required to meet customer needs. Attends job fairs and other networking events that may provide a source for meeting potential new Independent Contractors. Acts as a liaison between the drivers and management and helps to resolve any issues. Implements new recruiting methods, tools, sources, and processes. Handles the process of finding new Independent Contractor drivers, including but not limited to placing advertisements, answering ad responses, interviewing potential ICs, running background checks, and orientation for new drivers. Maintains contact with the sales and operations departments to stay alert as to the needs of the company for new drivers. Completes all reports and attends all meetings related to assigned duties.
Secondary Job Duties: Serves as inventory control for all uniforms, badges, and equipment for the ICs.
Impact on Other Positions, Products, & Services: Serves as the first person to set the tone for an applicant as to the culture of our company and what we expect from them. Must recruit drivers who will represent the company well when delivering to customers.
