Job Summary
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Proofreader to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong command of the English language and an eye for detail, ensuring that all written content is accurate, clear, and adheres to established style guidelines. As a Proofreader, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and integrity of our publications, contributing to the overall success of our projects.

Responsibilities

• Review and proofread various types of written content for grammatical, typographical, and formatting errors.
• Ensure adherence to the Chicago Manual Style and other relevant style guides.
• Conduct fact-checking to verify the accuracy of information presented in the text.
• Collaborate with writers and editors to provide constructive feedback on content clarity and coherence.
• Edit copy as needed to enhance readability and flow while maintaining the author’s voice.
• Assist in developing guidelines for writing standards within the organization.
• Stay updated on industry trends in writing and editing to continually improve skills.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in proofreading, copy editing, or related fields such as journalism or creative writing.
• Strong understanding of grammar, punctuation, and style conventions.
• Familiarity with the Chicago Manual Style is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a passion for ensuring high-quality content.
• Experience in copywriting is a plus but not mandatory.

Pay: $19.59 - $20.82 per hour
