Position Summary
The Carrier Relations Manager for the Trucking Division in our Huntsville, Alabama office is responsible for driving strategic carrier sourcing and onboarding initiatives to enhance logistics solutions and revenue. The role will focus on negotiating and executing pricing contracts while leveraging sales strategies to expand the carrier network. The position will build and maintain strong relationships with carriers to ensure reliable capacity and exceptional service through data analysis and market insights, the Carrier Relations Manager will identify opportunities for operational improvements and cost efficiencies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Source, onboard, and maintain relationships with trucking carriers to ensure reliable and cost-effective transportation solutions.
Negotiate and execute pricing contracts to align with company profitability and operational goals.
Utilize sales strategies to expand the carrier network and strengthen partnerships.
Monitor carrier performance to ensure service quality and adherence to agreed-upon standards.
Analyze market trends and data to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Collaborate with internal teams, including operations and customer service, to meet client logistics needs.
Resolve carrier issues, including delays, disputes, or compliance concerns, in a timely and professional manner.
Provide accurate and timely updates to internal systems and stakeholders regarding load statuses and market conditions.
Drive productivity by managing load volume, optimizing capacity, and increasing gross margins.
Stay informed on industry regulations and market changes to maintain a competitive edge in carrier sales.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics or a related field
4 years of experience in carrier sales, logistics, or a similar field is preferred
Experience with remote sales strategies and familiarity with transportation management systems
Proven experience in operations management and negotiations
Strong leadership skills and familiarity with logistics industry regulations and standards
