Seeking a Maintenance Manager for a manufacturing plant in Chesapeake, VA. This position requires a comprehensive knowledge of equipment maintenance and safety regulations. This position requires previous experience involved with maintenance procedures in a manufacturing environment. This position requires managing a maintenance team of 2-3. Teamwork with other company supervisors and other employees is a must.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Maintain, repair, and overhaul all production machinery and equipment.
- Maintain and repair buildings and grounds.
- Ensures that preventive maintenance is performed.
- Installs, relocates, or removes machinery systems.
- Troubleshoots electrical and mechanical systems.
- Keeps maintenance logs on all work done.
- Initiates requests for maintenance supplies, spare parts and tools.
- Select the proper lubricants for machinery and equipment.
- Always comply with all safety rules and regulations.
- Perform housekeeping duties in the maintenance area and in areas worked in.
- Will be responsible for the safekeeping of all company and personal tools used.
- Other duties as assigned by plant manager or above.
- Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
- Must have past supervisory / management experience.
- Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job.
- Must be able to operate and work around industrial machinery.
- Must be able to work in high or enclosed spaces.
- Must be able to wear respirators, safety glasses, and or hearing protection in required areas.
- Must be able to take direction in a manufacturing environment with ever changing demands.
- Varying weather conditions in the local area including temperature extremes, dust, rain, wind, and snow.
- Exposure to gasoline, diesel fuel, motor oils, anti-freeze, cement dust, and electrical systems.
- Hearing protection and respiratory use required in designated locations.
- Requires the ability to climb heights (steps, ladders, and ramp walkways with handrails).
- It is intermittently required to carry, lift / lower, and push / pull up to 100lbs.
- Must be able to handle the stress of supervising employees, extended work hours, production demands, and equipment breakdowns or malfunctions.
