Job Title: Counter Person – Tool Rental (with Light Equipment Operation Experience)

We are a locally owned and operated equipment rental company dedicated to providing exceptional service and quality tools for contractors, homeowners, and landscapers. We're seeking a reliable and knowledgeable Representative to join our team — someone with solid customer service skills and light experience operating equipment such as skid steers and mini excavators.
Position Summary:
As a Counter Person, you’ll be the first point of contact for customers. You’ll assist with equipment rentals, answer questions, provide recommendations, and help load or demonstrate equipment when needed. Basic knowledge of operating small equipment is a plus and will help you better support our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and assist with rental inquiries at the counter and over the phone
- Provide accurate equipment recommendations based on customer needs
- Process rental agreements and ensure proper paperwork is completed
- Explain proper equipment use and safety procedures
- Assist in loading/unloading equipment as instructed
- Perform basic inspections and function checks on tools and equipment
- Operate light equipment (e.g., skid steer, mini excavator) for demonstration or yard movement
- Maintain a clean and organized counter and yard area
- Communicate with the yard and mechanic staff to ensure timely equipment availability
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a tool/equipment rental environment is preferred
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and machinery
- Minor hands-on experience with skid steers and mini excavators is a strong plus
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically active environment
- Valid driver’s license required
- Forklift certification a bonus, but not required

Pay: $18.00 - $24.67 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 45 per week
