What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bistro Attendant/Bartender PM position at Courtyard by Marriott at Shawnee?
Description
- Welcome and connect with every customer
- Discover guest needs and make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy
- Answer questions about our food, beverages, and other restaurant or Hotel functions and services
- Take food and beverage orders from guests, enter orders in MICROS system
- Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen
- Prepare food, coffee barista drinks, and other beverages (including alcohol)
- Assist in preparing ingredients for cooking, including; portioning, chopping, and storing food
- Perform running side work and opening and closing duties throughout your shift as required by service station assignment
- Maintain a clean and organized work and service area
- Ensure guests are satisfied with the beverage, food, and service
- Respond promptly and courteously to any requests
- Prepare final bill, present check to guest, accept payment, process credit card charges or make change (if applicable)
- Complete Bistro opening and closing duties according to checklists
- Count banks at end of shifts, complete designated cashier reports, resolve any discrepancies, drop off receipts, and secure bank
- Teamwork – Offer or ask for help from your fellow team members as situations arise. Aid in Food and Beverage areas including busing, cleaning, and resetting tables, delivering food to guests, general cleaning of food and beverage prep areas and other areas within the lobby area.
- Thank your guests by name (if a credit card is used) for their visit and invite them to return
- All servers will be sharing in the food running
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Bistro as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor

Requirements
Education & Experience:
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): or Work Equivalent
- Must have good understanding of the English language and previous guest/customer relations training
- Must be TIPS, CARE (or equivalent) certified, or be willing to become certified
- Ability to input and access information in the property management system/point of sales system
Licenses:
- Liquor License – KCMO within 30 days of hire
