About the Role
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) is responsible for supporting the General Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the hotel. This role involves managing staff, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and maintaining high standards of service and hospitality. The AGM will also assist in financial management, marketing efforts, and strategic planning to enhance the hotel's performance.
Responsibilities
- Oversee hotel departments to ensure an optimal level of service and hospitality are provided to hotel guests.
- Assist in managing and training staff, including hiring and scheduling.
- Assist with managing budgets, financial plans, and projections.
- Create and implement strategies for increasing revenue and occupancy.
- Coordinate and supervise special events, meetings, and conferences.
- Maintain compliance with hotel policies, safety regulations, and labor laws.
- Resolve customer complaints and anticipate potential problems by reviewing and monitoring operational issues, business flow and associate performance.
- Assist with accounting functions including but not limited to accounts payable and receivable, house bank audits, petty cash, and tax-exempt procedures.
- Acts as Manager on Duty for the hotel, using problem solving skills to resolve complaints, disturbances, special requests, social media reviews and any other issues that may arise.
- Holds monthly departmental meetings, and morning huddles to keep staff informed of all activities in the hotel, reinforcing standards of excellence and promoting a formidable team atmosphere and culture.
- Fields group rate inquiries and provides bids and follow up in a timely manner.

Requirements
- Proven experience as an Assistant Manager or similar role in the hospitality industry.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to problem-solve and make decisions under pressure.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and hotel management software.
- Preferred Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
