About The Role
The Senior Director, Luxury Brand Operations is a critical leadership position within the Luxury Group organization. This role is pivotal in developing and driving the strategy for Luxury Brands, with a strong emphasis on enhancing the branded guest experience and delivering differentiated brand programming. This position will focus on driving the strategic direction and execution of the Luxury Brands' priorities, collaborating closely with cross-functional and continent teams to enhance brand prestige, perception, and awareness. Furthermore, this role will play a crucial role in supporting the Luxury Brand Operations team in executing new projects and initiatives that serve to better the experience of our on-property associates and guests. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of the luxury hospitality landscape and a proven track record of success in delivering exceptional guest experiences, preferably as a former General Manager or Area GM of a luxury hotel(s).
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
The Senior Director, Luxury Brand Operations will report to the SVP of Luxury Operations and act as a strategic partner in the Global Luxury Organization to continually improve guest experience and drive operational efficiencies.
The salary range for this position is $147,000 to $248,100 annually. CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
- Operational Excellence:
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement within Luxury Brand Operations, identifying and implementing best practices across all areas of the guest journey.
- Partner closely with cross-functional teams within the Luxury Group (e.g., Quality, Marketing, Brand Management and Design)
- Act as the strategic business liaison between Headquarters, the continents and the greater Luxury Brand Operations team, providing guidance and support on operational matters.
- In collaboration with the brand teams, assist in the development, implementation, and deployment of operational standards, policies, and best practices across the Luxury Portfolio.
- Guest Experience Focus:
- Working with the quality and operations teams at headquarters and in the continents drive the guest experience across all touchpoints.
- Ensure that all guest centric Luxury Brand initiatives are aligned with the guest experience vision across the luxury portfolio.
- Cultivate a culture of service excellence among hotel associates, empowering them to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
- Project Management & Execution:
- Successfully manage and execute complex projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget and timelines.
- Demonstrate strong project management skills, including planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and risk mitigation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
- Communication & Influence:
- Cultivate and maintain highly collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across the Marriott Enterprise, including headquarters, continent leaders, and brand leaders, requiring exceptional diplomacy and influencing skills.
- Communicate effectively and persuasively with all levels of the organization, both internally and externally, while navigating complex stakeholder dynamics and achieving consensus through skillful influence.
- Effectively influence and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes, often without direct authority, demonstrating strong diplomatic and persuasive abilities.
- Education & Experience:
- Required:
- Ten or more years’ experience in the guest services, front desk, housekeeping, management operations, or related professional area, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance.
- Five or more years in senior roles at the property level of a luxury hotel
- 4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Operations Management, Hospitality Management, or related major.
- Preferred:
- International hospitality operations experience is preferred.
- Experience in an All-Inclusive luxury hotel, lodge/camp or yacht.
- Prior GM experience is preferred.
