- The Maintenance Technician at Courtyard by Marriott in St. George, plays a crucial role in maintaining the hotel's facilities to ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for guests. This position involves regular maintenance of the property, including the four pools, performing property walks to identify any issues, handling basic plumbing and electrical repairs, troubleshooting equipment, and responding to guest requests or maintenance emergencies. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and have a willingness to learn and grow within the hospitality industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pool Maintenance: Maintain and clean all four pools (indoor and outdoor), including skimming, vacuuming, brushing, and checking water quality. Regularly test pool chemistry (pH, chlorine levels, alkalinity) and adjust as necessary. No experience needed, will train.
- Property Walks: Perform daily property walks to inspect the hotel's grounds, common areas, and facilities for any maintenance issues. Address concerns such as lighting, HVAC, and general property appearance.
- Basic Plumbing & Electrical: Perform basic plumbing tasks such as fixing leaks, unclogging drains, repairing faucets, and ensuring toilets and sinks are functioning properly. Handle basic electrical repairs such as changing light bulbs, replacing fuses, and troubleshooting minor electrical issues.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs: Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning hotel equipment and systems, including HVAC units, refrigerators, pool pumps, and other machinery. Work quickly and efficiently to minimize disruption to guests.
- Guest Requests: Respond to maintenance requests from guests in a timely and courteous manner, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction.
- Preventative Maintenance: Conduct preventative maintenance tasks such as inspecting equipment, cleaning PTAC & HVAC filters, checking plumbing systems, and maintaining hotel appliances and tools.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with local and federal safety regulations. Maintain a safe working environment for yourself, guests, and staff.
- Documentation: Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections. Report any issues that require major repairs to the maintenance supervisor or management.
- Collaboration: Work with hotel management and other staff members to identify areas for improvement in the maintenance operations. Assist in developing and implementing processes that enhance the guest experience and hotel operations.
