Purpose for the Position: The Bistro Attendant is a member of the Food and Beverage team and is responsible for greeting every guest/customer with a smile and positive attitude, taking orders, preparing and delivering items, following accurate cash handling and room charge procedures, organizing and maintaining a clean service area, cleaning tables and area, and following all health and alcohol laws. Additional responsibilities include maintaining an inventory of needed supplies, ensuring all menus are clean before shift, and being familiar with hotel facilities and their location and hours. Essential Responsibilities: 1. Maintain standards of Food and Beverage quality and guest service quality. 2. Greet guests. 3. Ensure prompt requests for drink orders. 4. Present menus, answer questions, and make suggestions regarding food and service. 5. Suggest wine sales wherever appropriate. 6. Relay orders to the kitchen and beverage services. 7. Observe guests to fulfill any additional requests and to perceive when meal portions have been completed. 8. Clear and reset tables. 9. Complete all side work as assigned. 10. Maintain a clean work and storage area. 11. Read and understand MSDS. 12. May assist in the set-up, cleaning, and refreshing of the function rooms. 13. Attend department meetings. 14. Complete projects as determined by the Operations Manager. 15. Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food. 110-700 Job Description, Bistro Attendant . Process all orders using Micros and collect payment from customers, and provide assistance in Food and Beverage areas including busing, cleaning, resetting tables, and delivering food to guests (room service delivery). 17. Perform general cleaning and maintenance of Food and Beverage prep areas, counting the bank at end of shifts, and following property control audit standards and cash handling procedures. To do this kind of work, you must be able to: • Speak with others using clear and professional language. • Enjoy being a part of a team and working within a cohesive team environment. • Use arithmetic to total costs and make change (concessions). • Converse with different people to provide information and deliver service. • Stand and/or walk for long periods of time. • Lift and carry heavy objects such as heavy trays. • Be available on nights, days, weekends, and holidays Physical Demands: Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance and objects in excess of 50 pounds with assistance. Stands, sits, or walks for an extended time period. Performs other reasonable job duties as requested. Environmental Conditions: Inside: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. A job is considered "inside" if the worker spends approximately 75% or more of the time inside. Math Skills: Requires mathematical development sufficient to be able to: add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure. Language Skills: Must have developed language skills to the point to be able to Read instructions, rules, and write sentence, speak clearly.
