Summary:
The Bistro Attendant ensures the restaurant runs smooth. They must adhere to food health and safety protocols, assist in maintaining cleanliness of bistro, take orders from guests, prepare food, and help staff when needed.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate appropriate behaviors and positive guest relations
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas including dry good storage, refrigerators, and freezers
- Handle all guest service complaints and compliments in a professional and timely manner
- Input orders into cash register system and collect payments from guests
- Take guest orders, prepare food and beverage items, distribute prepackaged and prepared food items, and deliver orders to tables as needed
- Follow and ensure compliance with food and safety handling policies and procedures
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company food safety programs
- Wash and disinfect kitchen area including tables, tools, knives, and equipment to ensure sanitary conditions and met the department standards
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes
- Dispense appropriate levels of alcohol
- Assist in checking all fixtures, equipment, and conditions
- Participate in all mandatory job training and meetings
Qualifications:
- A High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience as a server is preferred
- May need to meet age limits for serving alcoholic beverages
- Courteous and attentive to guests
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
- Flexibility to work shifts, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays
