Job Summary
The Life Enrichment role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for residents in assisted living and long-term care settings. This position focuses on providing meaningful activities and support that promote social interaction, mental stimulation, and emotional well-being. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging programs and activities tailored to the interests and needs of residents.
- Facilitate social interactions among residents to foster a sense of community and belonging.
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) while promoting independence and dignity.
- Collaborate with nursing staff, social workers, and families to ensure comprehensive care plans are followed.
- Maintain accurate documentation of resident participation in activities and any notable changes in behavior or health.
- Provide compassionate support to residents, particularly those with dementia or cognitive impairments.
- Organize special events, outings, and celebrations that enhance the life enrichment experience for all residents.
Requirements
- Previous experience in caregiving or home community care is preferred.
- Knowledge of social work practices related to elderly care is advantageous.
- Familiarity with dementia care techniques and best practices in assisted living environments.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members.
- Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and understanding when working with individuals facing physical or cognitive challenges.
- Experience in nursing homes or long-term care facilities is a plus.
