Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Front Office Manager to oversee the daily operations of our front desk team in a dynamic hotel environment. This property is currently under renovations and will be the gem of the city. You will be the new face of a brand new property with numerous opportunities for growth. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, exceptional customer service abilities, and a thorough understanding of hotel management practices. This role is essential in ensuring that guests receive outstanding service, and that the front office operates efficiently and effectively.
Duties
- Supervise and manage front desk staff, ensuring high levels of customer service are maintained at all times.
- Oversee the check-in and check-out processes, ensuring that all procedures are followed accurately.
- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and requests promptly and professionally to enhance guest satisfaction.
- Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance departments to ensure rooms are ready for guests upon arrival.
- Manage reservations, including group bookings, cancellations, and modifications using hotel management software.
- Conduct night audits as required, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and guest accounts.
- Train new staff members on front desk operations, customer service protocols, and hotel policies.
- Maintain knowledge of local attractions, events, and services to assist guests with recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the front office area.
Requirements
- Proven experience in hotel management or hospitality management roles at a Marriott hotel is preferred but not required.
- FOSSE (PMS) experience preferred.
- Strong background in customer service with excellent communication skills.
- Experience working at the front desk or in a similar role within a resort or hotel setting is advantageous.
- Proficient phone etiquette skills to handle guest inquiries effectively.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Familiarity with night audit procedures is beneficial but not mandatory.
