The R & D Formulation Chemist is responsible for assisting the R & D development team in the creation of new personal care and cosmetic formulations.
Duties:
- Assisting Lead chemist/technicians with product development and analysis of results
- Assisting R&D Director and Lead Chemist in preparing personal care & cosmetic formulations following written formulas and double check feasibility of instructions
- Operating laboratory equipment ex: Brookfield viscometer, pH meters, pycnometer
- Color & scent matching of cosmetic samples
- Maintain detailed daily formulation records and raw material sampling records
- Daily use of CoValence ERP system, computer skills necessary
- Assisting the R&D director/Lead Chemist with daily manufacturing production adjustments
- Attending vendor meetings and researching new trends/innovations
- Daily submissions of R&D samples for clients, QC, stability testing or other forms of testing
- Must be able to perform duties with a strong emphasis on safety and proper handling of materials as outlined in the company’s policies and procedures
- Perform all other job related duties as assigned
Bachelors Degree in Chemistry or related field. Two years work experience in personal care product manufacturing preferred.
