About the role
Scale Attendant Job Description :
- Monitor inbound / outbound truck activity.
- Acquire and monitor accurate truck weights.
- Communicate with various departments any scale operational issues.
- Keep accurate records of all tickets, manifests, and supplies.
- Reconcile transportation and disposal invoices for various Covanta facilities.
- Handle special projects assigned by supervisor and any other related duties.
- Ensuring that incoming loads are safe and do not contain any inappropriate material.
- Enter truck information into computer systems.
- Weigh trucks in and out.
- Ensuring that customers and employees conduct all business in a safe manner and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Providing general upkeep of the Scale House.
- Approaching all encounters with employees, customers, and vendors in a friendly, service oriented manner.
- Balance the daily receipts to ensure accurate record keeping and appropriate billing.
- Answer the telephone and provide information to the public regarding hours of operation, acceptable types of waste, location and directions to the transfer station and prices associated with disposal.
- Ability to perform basic math to measure volumes and quote / calculate pricing for the customer.
- Keep immediate supervisor informed of all problems or matters requiring his / her attention.
